Outsourcing to the customers

Outsourcing is a way of transfering the execution of some operations to an external service provider. When the delegation of operations concerns customers, we talk about “Outsourcing to the customers”.
Indeed, the purpose of the outsourcing became a kind of business for firms : they have the opportunity to spend less money in the production and they reach the customer. He has the impression that he creates, he realizes something, that he is the one who decide.
It’s true that the customer decides but it’s also his responsability.
Great society such as the SNCF uses its kind of outsourcing, but we also find it in very little firms. For example, some restaurants propose the clients to compose themselves their salads; the customer is more involved in his food and he has the power of chosing.
It’s really valorising to know that you can control something, it belongs to the consumption society and therefore individualism.
Nevertheless, the customer asume the whole responsability for everything he buys. It will be impossible for him to complain about their tickets or the taste of the salad they’ve made!
