Strikes stroke again!

In Paris, the subway is terrifying. A crowd of people is trying to get in a wagon, people screaming, insulting others...you're far from the most beautiful city in the world.

But, fortunately, we are abble to work without subway, bus or train thanks to new technologies. Of course, it depends on the job you do but collars can easily work from home and send their work via the Internet. You can also share files with msn or even attend a meeting thanks to video-conference. This is the great advantage in those painful moments of stikes, squizeed in the subway.
This is a revolution in our way of working and even if it's still important to go to work, we can manage and feel more free.

New technologies, a gift in our lives

All you've always wanted to know about your addictive applications but were afraid to ask... Facebook, MSN and My space won't have any secret for you and will be yours for ever!

Abracadabra... the magic of the web

The internet is a wonderful place to discover new talents, it's a real stock of brains and efficiency. Some people launched new application such as Facebook created by Mark Zuckerberg, My Space and You Tube. These creatives are mostly young people who share their ideas and concepts through the Internet. Now, these people are famous and quite wealthy because their projects have mostly been bought by big grups such as Google. We must say that the Internet is a nest of talents, some people of course didn't succeed but they could create trends. Facebook had a fantastic buzz, that's why it's so popular today.
I think the Internet is an amazing way of producing programs and applications, people should carry on creating trends. It's our modern creativity... and we like it.
Creators did found great jobs and they are now very famous because they begin from nothing. They are an example for a lot of people, a kind of self-made men of our time who can mold fashin for the entire world.

Social Message Sent

SMS are a now a very simple way of communication. It's very easy to send a message from your phone to another but it enables people to write things instead of talking to someone. It's very interesting to see that a phone can be an oral media as a writting media. SMS is quick and it is easily availiable for consultation. A SMS is also practicle and we can use it everywhere and at any time. For the moment, SMS are still used for private conversation, indeed advertising hasn't yet interfered SMS conversation.
Nowadays, SMS becomes a new kind of social link. We see it in a lot of TV shows, programs such as "T'empêche tout le monde de dormir" or "Le Grand Journal" in France use SMS to interact whith the audience. They prefer SMS because it's easier for people and quicker. It's the only one use of SMS until now, we know that advertising will, a day or another, be on the mobile.
Moreover, SMS have a mercantil role, a lot of compagnies reach buyers through SMS especially young people.
To conclude, we can say that SMS is about to be a way of making money giving the impression of reactivity for the users.

Fame...I wanna live forever

"Fame is a fickle friend"...
Many people are looking for fame because it helps them to feel better and more interesting, thus the Internet is just the most fantastic tool for them. In former times, it was a bit difficult to be famous, indeed you had to be very special to be know, very gifted. Today anyone can be on the Internet : on dailymotion or youtube.
But on the other hand, it's so easy that you have to be very special too. A lot of people will see your talent, but it's hard to catch the attention when we can have a look at everything on the Internet.
In France, for example, we have few people who became famous thanks to the Internet such as "Kamini" and "Passymal"... You can have a look at it right now...

Kamini is one of the first singer who succedes on the Internet in France with his clip Marly-Gaumont. It was what we call a phenomenon...the problem is that fame on the Internet is volatile. We don't actually remember people on the Internet, it's very ephemeral.
However it's a very good start...
Here another example of fame on the Internet...

The thing is that the Internet is a way of being seen, not always to become famous. We make fun of those who try to become famous and don't succed. This is how it works generally, with a lot of humour. But we can find this kind of phenomenon on television with entertainement programmes like American Idol...

Elephant or the horror of guns

This is terrible to see what happens to young students in some schools, they shot at their classmates, professors and also themselves. The common point of those dreadful stories is that media was always involved : diary, mobile phone and recently the Internet. When think of Colombine, we know that their were two and they used mobiles for examle. The thing is that students are often keen on new technologies, they use them very easily and their private life transit exclusively through them.
If we focus now on the Finnish student, we learnt that he posted a video on You Tube that proved he was up to something. Obviously nobody paid attention to it but You Tube moderators removed the video right after the drama.
It raises the problem of liberty on the Internet, indeed, are we supposed to track everyone on the web?
Police is already doing this, they track pedophiles on the Inetrnet and they seem to be quite successful. The thing is that we are totally going against the ideals of the Internet. Nowadays, for questionsof security, secret services such as the CIA or the DST are always surfing on the web in order to catch anyone who can "threat general good".
It's sad but the police managed to catch a lot of people thanks to this, the Internet is no more a free place. It's a question of security, there must be some limits.
I think it's better to act before the "crime" has been comitted even if there are some troubles with it. For example, some people in Finland made jokes about scripting other massacres in schools but they were caught whereas they were not up to do it.
The problem is also that policemen are not bound to patrol on the internet. If I found a serous information about a crime, I woul tell he police because it may save people but it's very compllicated on the web to see who is joking, who is srious and who is preparing an attempt.

Your face on the web or more...

Facebook is a social network that allows people to communicate with their friends and exchange information. It was launched on 2004 by Harvard College students who wanted to share informations. Then, over the next year other universities were allowed to join, it worked with different universities email adresses.
Today, Facebook is very popular in a lot of countries especially among students. It enables you to share your photos with people you've chosen, it might be your friends or people of grups that interest you. Indeed, only some people have access to your profile and your photos, it creates a community for each school, society... For the moment, it remains private because you have to allow people to go on your page.
I said for the moment because Microsoft has just bought a part of Facebook. According to Steve Ballmer, president of Microsoft, Facebook is a network very profitable. Indeed, advertisers have an incredible opportuity to know exactly the target aimed : their tastes, their passions... The idea of Microsoft is to sell facebookers' profiles to advertisers, in order to help them to take aim at the perfect target.
Some people are consorting in ordrer to face wath they call a "threat" to private life.

Sharing with strangers...

Internet is the only one media through which you can send money or pay your purchasing. Therefore, I believe trust is important and even compulsory.

Letting money to stangers through the internet is a bit amazing. It's, at first sight, a very generous idea because most of people on the site who are asking for money are people who have real problems. Most of them chose this way of borrowing money because it's their last chance.

People who lend money have no qualms. Indeed, they are just totally opposite to internet culture ; they take advantage of the situation and extort money to these people.

This is not a model of generosity at all, they just benefit of the other's misfortune. If banks refuse to lend them money it's because it's a risquy business for them...

However, many borrowers do not hesitate into investing for lucrative reasons, the interest rate is humongous... sometimes up to 60%
I think it's a viable model because there will always be hopeless people.
